For us, it is also about routine, discipline and accountability. Weekly classes keep me enthusiastic about home practices. Shichida has a progress report book for parents to update weekly, so it builds accountability. It is analogous to me needing Pilates lessons to make it a priority. Else, it moves down the to-do list.
Class materials change frequently and are updated to match the child’s needs as he grows. Attending classes is a great way to get ideas for those easy to replicate at home.

Absolutely. Even though I’m working on new materials for the kids almost daily, there are days when I find I have no new material to show them because I slept through the night instead of staying up to work on them. I’m also sure that if I were left to do everything, our topics would be heavily skewed towards trains and trains alone…
