Opening Pandora’s Box…

I was searching for logic games on the app store for G1 when I stumbled on this one…

The Room by Fireproof Games

In a nutshell, it’s Pandora’s Box in a game – drawing upon you curiosity to figure out how to open the box. But be warned… it’s not as simple as it sounds.

How are you, old friend?
If you’re reading this, then it worked. I only hope you can still forgive me.
We’ve never seen eye to eye on my research, but you must put such things behind you. You are the only one to whom I can turn.
You must come at once, for we are all in great peril. I trust you remember the house? My study is the highest room.
Press forward with heart. There is no way back now.

I seem to be a little late on the band wagon because this app has been out since 2012. Judging from the ratings and the awards it has won, it has done extremely well. I figured out first hand why…

The plan was to check out the app before I handed it over to G1. Well, one puzzle led to another and the next thing I know, I’m hooked. Instead of telling G1 about the app, I kept it to myself so I could work on it in peace. I confess I have a thing for puzzle games but this one really takes the cake. It’s beautifully created with stunning graphics. The problems are cleverly thought out and varied enough to keep you puzzling through them.

There are 5 chapters and each chapter introduces a new box with several levels of locks you need to get through before you can open the box. You have to figure out how to open secret drawers and compartments that contain tools and clues that will help you to open the box. If you’re stuck, you can ask for a hint.

The Room is available:

Once you’re done with The Room, you can start on The Room 2
