The children are learning about animals at school so they took a visit to the Farm in the City in Seri Kembangan. Although I’d heard about it, I confess we have yet to make a visit there ourselves so it was nice to get a chance to check out the place as a parent helper.
At Farm in the City, you learn all about the different species of animals through a guided tour while you get up close with the animals. There are plenty of opportunities to feed and pet the animals, like the giant tortoises, goats, birds, fish, and rabbits.
The children can go on a pony ride, try to catch tiny fish with nets, watch the parrot show, or handle the snakes if they’re game!
Although it is called “Farm” in the City, you’ll also see animals that aren’t typically found on the farm – like raccoons, deer, big lizards and one very large reticulated python.
There is also a skunk and some porcupines.
It was quite a whirlwind visit for us and we didn’t get to try everything, but it was a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn how to care for the animals and handle them gently.
Despite being only a half-day trip, by the time we got back to the bus, I was so beat, I fell asleep. I swear I was only resting my eyes for a minute. I hope I didn’t embarrass myself by snoring. Anyway, if you’d like to visit Farm in the City, here are the details…
