Fresh PickWhat is this app about?

Created by PBS Kids, Fizzy’s Lunch Lab Fresh Pick is an app designed to teach children Math in an engaging way using video narratives and interactive challenges through games. It is created for children age 6-8 years, but Hercules (my nearly 4 year old) loves it. Some of the challenges are beyond his level at the moment but I sit through it with him and we work on them together. Those challenges are probably more appropriate for Aristotle but I haven’t had a chance to try it out on him because he was on an iPad ban for the last 4 weeks. He is intensely curious and cannot wait for his chance to go at it so I’m pretty sure he’ll enjoy it, too. Here’s what they say about it…

Professor Fizzy, star of the PBS KIDS web series, “Fizzy’s Lunch Lab,” is holding a competition to see who has what it take to be the next Lunch Labber! Think it’s going to be easy cheesy? Well think again! Take on 8 exciting challenges that will put your math and problem solving skills to the test. If you can navigate your way through the grocery store, come up with right amount of change in the check-out line, and successfully serve food to a room full of hungry customers, you may just have what it takes to become the next member of the Lunch Lab!

  • From the 3-time Emmy Nominated PBS KIDS Web Series, Fizzy’s Lunch Lab
